Gujarat government has commenced 23 urban infrastructure projects worth Rs 293 crore in the jurisdiction of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). These projects primarily focus on the suburban areas of the city and include special provisions for their development.

Out of the total, 17 projects amounting to Rs 243 crore cover a range of initiatives such as stormwater drains, pumphouses, drainage and water supply works, road resurfacing, and housing projects.

The Chief Minister inaugurated six other projects valued at Rs 53 crore. These projects consist of a building for the urban community health center at Kishanwadi, a sewage treatment plant at Vemali, water supply networks, various online services offered by the civic body, and the dedication of an MRI facility at SSGH. The MRI facility, established at an investment of Rs 9.37 crore, will provide scans at a significantly reduced cost of Rs 2,000, making it more affordable compared to the market rate. The facility will be free of charge for beneficiaries of government schemes and individuals holding BPL cards.
