Gujarat's GIFT City to expand three-fold

The Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City)
The Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) has unveiled plans to expand its operational area by approximately 2,300 acres in order to triple its current size. To achieve this, the city intends to incorporate four neighboring villages in Gandhinagar district, namely Shahpur, Ratanpur, Lavarpur, and Pirojpur. This expansion aims to promote uniform development, similar to the existing GIFT City.

The selected villages, with a combined population of around 25,000, will be developed by private developers who will acquire land from farmers. The renowned urban planner and architect, Bimal Patel, has been appointed to create the master plan for this ambitious expansion.

The enlarged area will be developed according to the development control regulations of the GIFT Urban Development Authority (GIFT-UDA), overseen by the Secretary of Gujarat's urban development and housing department. Currently, GIFT City Company owns 741 acres of the total area, and this portion will be developed first. As construction of approximately 4,500 residential units progresses, GIFT City has plans to establish a central park, recreational facilities, malls, theaters, and entertainment zones.

With this strategic expansion, GIFT City aims to enhance its prominence as a thriving business and financial hub, accommodating both residential and commercial needs within the expanded area.
