The inauguration was led by DP World Executive Chairman Essa Kazim and Group Chief Executive Officer Yuvraj Narayan during Kazim’s first visit to India in his new role. Members of DP World’s Global Board of Directors also attended the event.
The second phase of Nhava Sheva Business Park spans 42 acres and will add 1 million sq ft of warehousing capacity to the facility. The first phase, spread across 44 acres, provides another 1 million sq ft of warehousing space.
DP World said the expansion reflects the strategic importance of India to its global growth plans as the country strengthens its position as a manufacturing, consumption and export hub.
During the visit, Kazim, Narayan and members of DP World’s board met Gaurav Dayal, Chairman of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), and Ravish Kumar, Deputy Chairman, JNPA, to discuss the company’s partnership with the port authority, which spans nearly three decades.
The relationship dates back to the concession agreement for Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT) and has contributed to the development of the public-private partnership model in India’s port infrastructure. Discussions also covered opportunities for further collaboration, including the development of Vadhavan Port and additional investment in the JNPA Special Economic Zone.
The expanded Nhava Sheva Business Park is part of DP World’s plan to develop an integrated logistics ecosystem at Nhava Sheva, connecting port operations with container freight stations, rail, warehousing and Free Trade Warehousing Zone capabilities.
