Ayodhya to Become a Sustainable and Green Smart City
The Uttar Pradesh government plans to develop Ayodhya as a sustainable and greenfield smart city. The initiative aims to create liveable and resilient communities, ensuring a balance between the needs of permanent residents and the large influx of tourists expected in the religious city. The development will leverage urban planning technologies, focus on green and solar elements, establish an efficient and sustainable transportation network, and implement comprehensive environmental sustainability practices, including waste management, water management, and power management. The project envisions an extensive 1,200-acre "New Ayodhya" or Green Field Township.
