In Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, 98 MSMEs are set to invest Rs 1,583.80 crore in various manufacturing units. Notably, one unit aims to produce spare parts for ISRO with a Rs 200 crore investment. Other units will focus on food processing, matches, modern rice mills, chemicals, and automobile spares. The first unit is expected to be operational by March 2024, with others phased in over three years. Investors from districts like Chennai and Coimbatore will establish the units in Thoothukudi, benefitting from single-window processing and eligibility for incentives. The district has surpassed its Rs 1,500 crore target, and the MSMEs will receive support through a single window for swift processing.
