BharatBenz Joins Delhi-NCR Vehicle Replacement Scheme, Offers 8% Discount on New Trucks and Buses

Bharat-Benz
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the maker of BharatBenz trucks and buses, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) under the Government of India’s vehicle replacement scheme for old trucks and buses in the Delhi-NCR region.

Under the agreement, BharatBenz will offer an 8% discount on the ex-showroom price of eligible trucks and buses purchased under the scheme. For electric vehicles, the discount will be capped at the level applicable to an equivalent Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle in the same Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) category.

In addition to the OEM discount, the Central Government will provide a 5% interest subvention and fixed monthly fuel vouchers for five years. Participating State Governments will offer up to 100% concession on motor vehicle tax for 10 years and waive registration fees for eligible beneficiaries.

BharatBenz joins Ashok Leyland, Switch Mobility, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and SML Mahindra, which have already partnered with the Government under the scheme. Together, these OEMs account for approximately 85% of India's truck and bus market, significantly expanding the scheme’s reach and supporting the replacement of older, high-emission commercial vehicles with cleaner and more efficient alternatives.
