Rs 200 crore has been allocated for the Tamil Nadu facility, with the remaining investment earmarked for the Gujarat and Karnataka units. The new factories will be located closer to wind project sites to improve logistics and streamline manufacturing operations.
The three facilities will add to Suzlon’s existing manufacturing network, which includes five blade factories in Jaisalmer, Bhuj, Ratlam, Dhule and Anantapur. With the new units, the company plans to expand its manufacturing network to 18 factories, positioning it to meet growing demand for domestically manufactured wind equipment.
The proposed factories will use AI-enabled solutions to improve productivity, product quality and workplace safety. Suzlon said the facilities would support faster execution of its order book and align with the push for efficient, locally manufactured equipment.
The expansion is expected to generate 3,000 direct and 12,000 indirect jobs, with around 80% of the employment opportunities in rural areas. As of March 2026, Suzlon had an order book of approximately 6 GW of wind energy projects from multiple clean energy companies.
The company has introduced automation in blade manufacturing and is expanding digital integration across nacelle production through Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Internet of Things (IoT) integration and robotics for critical tasks.
AI-enabled vision systems are being used for real-time defect detection, while digital quality platforms such as AskCQMS and the SAFER safety app are intended to strengthen quality control, workplace safety and traceability.
