bauma Conexpo India - All New-Name, Logo, and Venue

bC India is gearing up to take place this December with new name, new logo, and new venue. What prompted the organizers to take these steps?
Now, after three successful trade shows held under the name of bC India, we have agreed on a new name for the event: BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA. By doing this, Messe München and AEM are establishing a joint brand with consolidated brand management for their co operations BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA and BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA.
The shift to Gurgaon was based on several factors, mainly due to the availability of open air ground. We do need approx. 1 Lakh sqm. of open air exhibition space, which was unfortunately no longer available in Greater Noida as they have erected new halls where BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA took place. We are looking forward to occupy the full 150,000 square meter of space at the Huda Ground in Sector 29, Gurgaon.
Will you please elaborate on the benefits of the new venue? How will you ensure safety and security in this temporary arrangement?
The HUDA ground is located much closer to the domestic and international airport, around 20 minutes away. Besides this, the new venue location has numerous hotels in very close distance and is very well connected by road and public transportation, as it has the metro station IFFCO Chowk just next to the ground.
Similar to the editions in Mumbai in 2011 and 2013 at BKC, where we had the event on a plain field in temporary structures with non-existing infrastructure beforehand, we will again be planning and building everything from the scratch at the venue in Gurgaon. Whosoever has seen the first editions of bC India can assure that we have managed to transfer a huge lawn area into an organized exhibition venue, keeping all health and safety measurements in mind (like mandatory shoes and helmets for all workers, etc.).
I do believe that there is a big difference among trade fair organizers here in India and the methodology how exhibitions have to be prepared. Messe München and AEM are standing for satisfying quality and continuous customer satisfaction.
Have you taken the natural calamities into account like heavy rains which created lot of problems for the among exhibitors during recently concluded event in Bangalore?
Even though we are not expecting these kinds of climate change in December in Delhi region, we are still taking preventive measures by preparing the ground in various steps for this huge event. We are already in the process of finalizing the hangar constructions with an appropriate rain drains, measuring the load bearing capacity of each acre, compacting the grounds in various steps and taking care of further logistics like electricity, water, and internet supply at this temporary ground.
What is the main theme of this year show? Also please brief us about the other related conferences and programme coinciding with bauma Conexpo 2016.
I think the main theme will be generally speaking to showcase the completeness of the construction equipment spectrum with all industry leaders and participants on Board, with an outlook on stabilizing the growth of the industry.
In addition to the programs, conferences and awards, which will be definitely speaking about very important areas like power efficiency, ecologically beneficial technology and the financing aspect, we are planning for the first time a huge demonstration area, where the exhibitors will be able to showcase and compete with their newest machines and technology. All in all, a complete platform for the industry as many know it from bauma or Conexpo.
What are the steps being taken to attract large number of visitors this year? Is there any target set to allure big and quality gathering?
Looking at the forecasts and increase in Sales by the manufacturers, I expect an increase in the numbers of participants. We should be welcoming over 700 companies and over 30,000 business visitors between 12th and 15th December 2016 in Gurgaon/Delhi. We will increase our this year's road show to various other cities, many of them listed among the 100 smart cities, and just by the simple fact of being so centrally located, we should be attracting many additional visitors by the end of this year, especially when the economical situation will be even more lucrative.
With 'Make in India' drive, the pace of growth in manufacturing sector has improved to a four-month high in the beginning of this year and Indian products are marking their presence in overseas countries. What impact, you expect, to see on the visitorship from outside world of this initiative?
We might definitely witness an increase of visitors from countries where the current economic scenario is currently on a decline, and where the manufacturers are looking for promising new markets to export to, like India! With India showing continuous and stable growth rates, it is and will manifest its position as one of the most attractive markets for foreign investments.
As the CEO of this mega show, how do you see the contribution of bauma Conexpo like exhibition in improving the technological and business status of the Indian CE sector to the global standard?
Exhibitions, as a platform for the launch of innovative and news technologies, are an excellent place and driving force for the manufacturers to, not only see the competitors, but also global standard and set the targets for its own improvement, development of new inventive products. Having the experience with CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas, bauma in Munich, bauma China in Shanghai, BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA in Johannesburg, CTT in Moscow and of course BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA in Delhi, we have been experiencing a continuous technological development of our participants which is being usually displayed in a very fascinating way at one of our global trade shows.
What is your expectations from this year show in terms of business for the participants, considering major thrust being given on the development of infrastructure in the country?
Having the exhibition by the end of this year, where the pace of recovery from the decline in the last few years will still be comparably lower as in the upcoming years, I am very confident to say that companies will witness an increase in demand based on the units required for India's infrastructural roadmap. There are huge development plans, which will need the right equipment to make it happen.
