Armix: Proven Excellence in Concrete Mixers & Paving Block Machines
Armix Construction Machinery, Manoj Kumar Pillai - Managing Director
During Excon 2023 we will be launching our new Triple Station Hydraulic Wet Press Machine, which is already selling in some international markets, where it is competing with big players.
Armix Construction Machinery is a manufacturer of Self-Loading Concrete Mixers, Planetary Mixers, Hydraulic Wet Press Machines, and Paver Block Plants. The company launched its first plant in Doha, Qatar, and the second in Dubai, following which it got further orders in India, Oman, Kuwait, and the UAE.
Competing with leading suppliers
Armix has grown substantially and built up its brand image even in international markets. India is a developing market while the Middle East countries are matured in terms of quality and technology. It is not easy to be awarded projects in advanced markets like these, but we have established a presence there with our high tech products. We use only the top class of components available in international markets and do not compromise with quality. We have laid a sound foundation for our brand and are now one of the leading companies in the CE industry. We are making planetary mixers ranging from 375 to 1500 liters and now the 3000 liter capacity - the biggest ever built in India. We are confident that this is comparable to imported mixers from Germany and Italy, and a better choice as it is also more affordable.
We are also exploring electric drives in our self-loading mixers, but it will take time as the Indian market is not yet mature for such products. New developments or technological partnerships are necessary, and we are in discussions with some of the leading players to develop such products.
New products lined up for Excon 23
During Excon 2023 we are launching our new Triple Station Hydraulic Wet Press Machine, which is already selling in some international markets, where it is competing with big players. This is a big achievement for new Indian entities like us to grab major projects abroad. Our planetary mixers, self-loading concrete mixers, paving block machines, and hermetic tile press machines are already well proven in the market. We may announce yet another big AAC project during the tradeshow.Balancing quality and pricing
No doubt, quality comes with a price and in a highly price sensitive market like India, customers tend to lean more towards price considerations. This approach is wrong in my opinion as I believe that a product’s technology, quality, and service should precede its price. The construction industry is the backbone of a country’s economy, hence, building public infrastructure for the long-term and with sustainability is very important. To achieve this, OEMs need to invest in the best technology and undertake R&D, even though this will push up the cost of their machines. However, in the long-term, the customer /end-user will benefit through higher productivity and a longer service life of the machine bought from the best supplier, rather than buying a machine based on its lower pricing.
We have a strong technical team behind our product developments and leading suppliers from Europe are also helping us deliver top class equipment.
Outlook for construction equipment market
The Construction Equipment industry is very positive in the present infra building scenario, and I believe this will continue and even improve further once the general elections are over. The target of the current government is to become the third largest economy in the world. We are seeing new airports, national highways, metros, stadiums, hospitals, schools, etc, being built. The government is doing its best to remove bureaucratic hurdles for project contractors. However, we need participation by the private sector as well. The industry also needs to give more attention to quality with a focus on export markets as this would attract a lot of foreign remittance and thereby bring a faster economic growth to our country. Unfortunately, I have also observed a few players trying to promote price related sales, rather than focusing on quality. Such an approach will result in a major setback.
