Doosan Bobcat India sees a growing market for its light towers - and compressors
At bauma CONEXPO India, Doosan Bobcat showcased its light towers and compressors. According to BS Srinivas, Director - Portable Power and Ramachandran N, GM - Sales & Marketing, Doosan Bobcat is seeing higher demand for its light towers, especially from road and airport projects. "We are confident of growing demand as there are large projects coming up, such as the Navi Mumbai International Airport, and the long stretches of roads and highways. Plus, most of the projects have strict timelines, so construction has to be carried out even at night time and in all weather conditions. All such projects require good lighting to carryout the jobs safely and with timely completion," they said.
Doosan's light towers, with flicker-free LEDs and 9-m mast height, give illumination across 5 acres of construction sites, making them highly suitable for big projects. And since these projects require continuous functioning of the machines, with high reliability and uptime, the light towers, powered by Mitsubishi and Kubota Engines, can deliver continuous lighting for over 110 hours, with silent working.
The structure of Doosan light towers is designed to withstand wind speeds of 100 kmph. UL-certified cables in the masts, ensure disruptive-free working, even in adverse weather conditions. The light towers enable faster commissioning of projects as the lighting mast can be raised at 9 meters in 60 seconds.
Doosan Bobcat India is also looking to tap the growing compressor market with its medium and high capacity compressors ranging between 400 to 650 CFM. The compressors are highly suitable for big quarry and limestone sites, which demand highproductivity at higher pressure along with fuel economy. Doosan's P 250 , P 315, P 360 & P 415 models have an operating pressure of 100 psi, making them suitable for quarrying applications, for use with jack hammers and for shot blasting applications.
Said BS Srinivas, "The high performance of our compressors is due to the design of the screw air end, a rugged enclosure designed for dusty environments, a cool box design for maintaining low temperature inside the box, air filters mounted with pre-cleaners, maintenance-free batteries, and wide doors for ease of service."
Ramachandran N added that the compressors high design standard takes into account the critical application requirements of end-users, and is, therefore, based on Doosan's 5 step gateway process approach that encompasses conceptualization of the product, its design, and commercial production, backed by service and support. To ensure higher availability and uptime of the compressors, maintenance kits containing consumable parts are provided to customers as per their operations, which could run into periodic intervals. Doosan compressors come with an option of Ashok Leyland and Cummins engines which is unique to Doosan Bobcat in the mid- range compressor segment.
