Weichai's Bharat stage-V engines for Construction & Mining Segment
Weichai India (a Shandong Heavy Industry Group company), during EXCON 2023, displayed its Bharat stage-V engines that comply with the new emission norms. These engines are designed for use in Construction Segment and are most suitable for applications like, wheel-loaders, motor graders, truck cranes and compactors.
SHIG India (P) Ltd. also showcased complete solution for Dump Trucks for mining application, starting with engine (make: Weichai), transmission (make: Fast Gear) & Axle (make: Hande). SHIG India supplies its Weichai make diesel engines to major mining customers (90 Tons to 105 Tons, expandable up to 120T).
For the commercial vehicle segment, Weichai makes & supplies stage VI compliant diesel and gas engines (4.6 L & 7.2 L), which are suitable for Bus & CV segment and many engines are already operating successfully in India.
Gurunath Kulkarni, Vice President – SHIG India (P) Ltd., said, “The advanced electronic engine comes with an after-treatment system that can be mounted on the engine and also work in isolation, depending on the requirements of the OEMs. We are working with OEMs to further co-engineer the engines to be fully compatible with the needs of the OEMs.”
He added, “led by large scale infrastructure development, we foresee strong demand for our engines for excavators, wheel loaders, and motor graders. Along with dump trucks, working in surface mining sites, for removal of overburden, we also have solutions for coal & Iron ore mining applications.”
He added, “Our engines are suitable for various applications, are compact, reliable and deliver best-in-class total cost of ownership”.
We have always been committed towards providing best after-market support to deliver better uptime and aim to improve it further by increasing our reach & un-interrupted spare parts supply.
With growing demand and market share, we are increasing our existing production capacity and as the demand grows further, we plan to come up with a new state-of-the-art plant, with capacity of 3000-4000 big bore engines and equipped with advanced application engineering & validation facility.
“Overall, the response of Weichai engines during EXCON has been great and we’ll surely be present in such events in future as well”, said Kulkarni.
