Its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu manufactures transmission aggregates and components - both automatic and power-shift, for cycling and hauling applications, while its Chennai plant is a dedicated export-oriented unit, manufacturing heavy-duty transmission components for global OEMs.
AVTEC’s in-house tech centre at Hosur is equipped to design and develop prototypes of buildings, testing, validation and value-added application engineering. Together with its expertise in developing and managing the complete supply chain, AVTEC in now the only Indian company with the ability to supply full transmission solutions to the off-highway industry.

Cycling Transmissions
AVTEC has supplied more than 16,000 cycling transmissions which are running in the harshest of Indian and global conditions. The product range includes 50 HP to 430 HP automatic and powershift cycling transmissions for Wheel Loaders, Forklifts, Rough Terrain Cranes, Aircraft Tow Tractors, Baggage Handlers, etc.
Transfer Case
Transfer Case is suitable for construction equipment where precise on-demand torque is required to be supplied to the front and rear axle based on the requirement. This product is suitable for Transit Mixers, Self-loading Concrete Mixers, Concrete Boom Pumps, etc.
Splitter Gearbox and PTOs
Splitter gearboxes are designed for specialized application wherein you require multiple outputs from a single prime mover. The Splitter gearbox and PTOs designed by AVTEC allow you to power a single, or multiple pumps from a single prime mover. Ideal for fitting in diesel engines to power several hydraulic pumps/attachments. These gearboxes allow power transfer to 2-6 pumps/attachments with different ratios enabling the right speed to be obtained for all pumps/attachments.
Transmission Solutions for Mining and Oil Field Applications
The product range includes transmissions suitable for 445 HP to 1200 HP hauling and Oil Field applications. These work-horses have been designed and developed at AVTEC’s in-house tech centre at Hosur and tested for performance in the most demanding Indian conditions.

Yaw/Slew Gearbox
Metro Gearbox
AVTEC is the only Indian company to have designed and developed a gearbox for metro rail application. This two-stage bi-directional reduction gearbox is the outcome of two years of hardcore engineering and development at its tech centre for durability and longevity, and survival in the toughest of conditions. The gearbox is also suitable for EMU and MEMU applications. The product has been rigorously validated as per industry standard tests like NVH, lubrication and leaks, water tightness, cold start and short circuit resistance, ensuring higher system reliability and lower maintenance cost.
