Universal sets up new entity ‘Universal Axis’ for its Material Handling Range
Universal Group from Pune has introduced Man & Material handling products under its new entity, Universal Axis Lifting Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The vertical material handling products will be grouped in various categories based on application, capacity, height, etc. The range will include more than 15 models of Rack & Pinion Passenger Material Hoists, Mast Climbing Works Platforms, Wire Rope Suspended Platforms, Sea-Saw Lifts, Multi-Go Hoists, Tower Hoists, Builder Hoists, Mini Cranes, Tower Cranes, Multi-Purpose Material Hoists, and more.
“The core strength of Universal is its customized solutions to meet specific site requirements. Considering the growing demand for Man & Material Handling equipment in India and from abroad, we have developed many new products in this segment, based on extensive market study. We have set up Universal Axis Lifting Solutions specifically for the very segment, under which our wide range of products will be grouped category-wise. With this move, we will be able to serve our customers in a more systemized and efficient way,” said Mr. Ranjit More, Managing Director.
The company has also set up a Robotics Manufacturing facility at their Pune plant, which is the first-of-its-kind for such products in India. Robotic manufacturing processes give the highest accuracy with strong and full proof welding connection. Highly qualified and experienced staff in design customizes the products as per site conditions, using the latest design and analysis software.

Universal Axis has introduced the Speedo series of Rack and Pinion Hoists that are CE-certified Safety Devices with 5-level safety mechanism for safe operation. The hoists are available in 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1 tonne, 800 kg and 400 kg capacity in single and twin masts, which go more than 300 meters in height above ground to 150 meters below ground in shafts.
The hoists have a variable speed from 8 meter/minute to high speed 90 meter/minute, and can be installed on inclined and profile structures surfaces such as cooling towers, chimneys etc. The safety device of the elevator is manufactured in-house and is CE certified. The elevator follows both European and Indian safety norms.
Universal Axis has installed the highest quantity of elevators in different segments like Building Construction, Steel & Cement Plants, Thermal Power Plants, Mines, and Communication Towers, etc. Elevators are thoroughly inspected and approved by various statutory bodies, consultants and government institutions for their technical suitability and safety.
