The company has many successful stories on innovation and customization of Rope Suspended Platforms (RSP)/ Gondolas/ Cradles. One such story on L-type (90O) RSP is shared here.
Project & Challenges
The job was to fix glass on the external side of the buildings. The working on RSP was not an easy task due to the 900 MM curve shape reeds on multiple places on the walls. The normal RSP (ZLP-800: 7.5M) was not useful in all the places. So, the challenge was to cover reed areas. Even installation of Suspension Mechanism was also difficult on terrace areas due to the building’s structure. The normal length of Front Beam Overhang (1.3-1.7 M) failed to cover reed areas.
Technical Solutions & Customization
When I visited the construction site for the first time on 16 Feb 2015, I met Mr. Deepak Chavan, project manager, Alcob India Pvt. Ltd and discussed the challenges, designs of available machines and possibilities to complete the job. Mr. Chavan shared his requirement for changes in the machine’s design.
Yes, it’s true that we really worked hard for L-shaped (90O) cradles and because of it the complex reed structure was completed. Otherwise, it would have made its execution very difficult and more time consuming. Mr. Santosh from New Age got involved in it passionately and sorted out all our difficulties. His efforts are really appreciated. He was always there from his company side for every assistance we needed. L shape Cradle (90O RSP) is really innovative for difficult works. It’s a very good product and we also got very efficient after-sales service from New Age.

Based on his requirement, New Age Construction customized the machine design and developed the L-Type Cradle (90O RSP) wherein the centre angle was 900 X 900MM and on both sides the additional platform is of 1M and 1M. So, the platform’s total length was 1900 X 1900 MM and it was in W-Shape hanging Mechanism to ease the work at the corners. The length of Front Beam Overhang was also changed. One side front beam was extended upto 2.6M to cover curve shaped reed areas.
