Grove cranes - reaching higher
The largest Grove GMK6400-1 all-terrain crane of 400 t capacity, is the successor to the popular GMK6400. It offers a range of upgrades and improvements, including Manitowoc’s Crane Control System (CCS) and MAXbase variable position outrigger system.
The GMK5150XL and the GMK5120L cranes set new standards for strength and reach, pushing the envelope of what’s possible for a five-axle all-terrain crane. The GMK5150XL is the new king of the 150 t class, redefining what’s possible in this category and offering excellent reach and taxi counterweight configurations. The GMK5120L 120 t capacity crane offers a 66 m main boom and fills the gap between the 100 and 150 t classes.
The four-axle all-terrain crane GMK4070L couples a 70 t capacity with unmatched roading versatility to take on jobs that would normally require a larger crane. The GMK4100L-2 based on a Plug-In Hybrid Concept is an environmentally friendly 100 t crane that features a completely electrically-driven superstructure and showcases the forward-thinking design capabilities of Grove’s engineers.
Two new Grove rough-terrain cranes, manufactured at the Manitowoc factory in Niella Tanaro, Italy, include the 120 t capacity GRT8120 which has recently been added to the production line at the facility, as well as the popular 51 t GRT655L. Manitowoc also launched the new GRT8100-1, an updated model in the 100 t capacity class that adds MAXbase technology, allowing owners to select multiple outrigger settings for greater flexibility in set-up.
Tower crane triumphs
From Potain, new tower crane Potain MR 229 is a new luffing jib model, and the first to feature the innovative Crane Control System (CCS). It offers fast and easy set-up, and a very short out-of-service radius to suit even the tightest jobsites. The design of the 14 t capacity crane facilitates easy installation on confined jobsites and delivers productive performance. Potain MDT 159 is a perfect city crane that can ship its full upper section in just three containers and with easy assembly so owners can put it to work faster.
Potain MDT 489, which is available in 20 t and 25 t versions, offers 80 m of jib. Its combination of power and reach makes it ideal for infrastructure and other large projects.
In its self-erecting crane line, the brand is offering two units: the Igo T 99, 6 t unit has compact dimensions, a small footprint, and an intelligent design. The Potain Hup M 28-22 is capable of lifting 2.2 t, and is the only self-erecting crane that offers 28 m of jib and up to 31 m of working height within such compact transport dimensions.
