GEAR: Forklifts, Reach Trucks, Battery-Operated Pallet Trucks & Tuggers

Executive Chairman, GEARVarun Chopra - Executive Chairman, GEAR

As a leading Material Handling Equipment (MHE) company, we specialize in both rental and sales, ranking among the top providers in MHE rental and deployment of zero-emission MHEs. Our range of MHE solutions include forklifts, reach trucks, battery-operated pallet trucks, tuggers, VNAs, and DDRTs. In forklifts, we provide an extensive selection, covering IC, lead-acid, and lithium-ion models with capacities ranging from 1.5 tons to 45.0 tons.

We specialize in customizing forklifts to meet our clients' specific requirements, ensuring that each solution is tailored to their unique operational needs and challenges. GEAR has deployed India’s first-ever 10.0-ton lithium-ion forklift at Vedanta Jharsuguda, and we have the capability to offer lithium-ion forklifts up to 16.0 tons.

A leading Material Handling Equipment

Our offerings include advanced lithium-ion forklifts that reduce operating expenses and produce zero emissions. Our forklifts and MHEs are equipped with AI-based devices and sensors that enable remote tracking of asset movement and in enhancing safety. The advanced AI technology in our forklifts uses algorithm-based safety devices to accurately detect the distance between forklifts and people and materials. This sophisticated system can differentiate between humans and objects, allowing it to be programmed to slow down or stop as needed, ensuring utmost safety during operations.

A leading Material Handling Equipment

Our expertise extends to both operational expenditures (Opex), including lease rentals for MHEs, and capital expenditures (Capex), involving the sale of MHEs. We also specialize in optimizing MHE fleet sizes and support customers in transitioning from diesel and lead-acid solutions to zero-emission lithium-ion MHEs.

As India advances toward its Net Zero goal by 2070, many of our customers are setting their own Net Zero targets between 2025 and 2050. In response, we are partnering with them to deploy the latest Lithium-ion-powered zero-emission forklifts. These forklifts are now as robust as their diesel counterparts, capable of operating in challenging environments and adept at handling gradients.

The reliance on diesel forklifts, which currently accounts for approximately 30-35% of our operations, is expected to decline to zero within the next five years. This shift is driven by the technological advancements in zero-emission forklifts, which not only reduce operating costs but also enhance their durability for harsh conditions.

A leading Material Handling Equipment

Lithium-ion-powered zero-emission forklifts offer substantial benefits across various fronts. Primarily, they eliminate diesel costs, significantly improving return on investment (ROI). These forklifts can be charged during downtime through opportunity charging, further optimizing efficiency. Their zero-emission feature plays a crucial role in assisting organizations on their journey toward Net Zero and the decarbonization of supply chains.

A leading Material Handling Equipment

Moreover, we adhere to the government guidelines for the disposal of lithium-ion batteries, ensuring that all battery disposal is conducted responsibly and in compliance with current regulations. As a responsible corporate citizen, we prioritize sustainability in all our operations.

We are a team of over 1,150 professionals with a pan-India presence and an extensive installed base of more than 2,000 Material Handling Equipment. Our partnership with top global OEM brands like STILL and HELI, enhance our market positioning. Our expertise extends across diverse industries such as Automotive, Auto Ancillaries, E-commerce, Industrial Manufacturing, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, and 3PL.
