Linden Comansa’s Biggest Crane for a Cement Plant in Latvia
International cement giant Cemex is building a new cement plant in Riga, Latvia, with the help of an LC 8952 flat - top tower crane from Linden Comansa. The Spanish manufacturer's exclusive dealer in Latvia, Valiants SIA, is lending the crane for rent since 2007 for the erecting of the plant's cooling tower, and the project will soon be finished.
Although this crane has a freestanding height of 89.8 meters and an 80 meter long radius, this LC 8952 has been erected for this project with a special height under hook of 120 meters, and a working radius of 40 meters. This modular versatility didn’t affect its powerful maximum load of 24 tons, but increased it at the end of the jib from 7.000 to 22.000 kilos.
The LC 8952 is Linden Comansa's biggest crane, and the only model that the manufacturer still produces from the emblematic 8000 series, whose cranes have been replaced by the newer and more advanced LC2100 cranes.
