Franna® – a brand of Terex (leading manufacturer of pick and carry cranes), has appointed Alpha Services as its first authorized Franna distributor in India. With this new partnership, Franna will bring its Made in India cranes closer to customers in the Delhi-NCR region. Alpha Services will provide full coverage including machine sales, spare parts, and service support to customers in the Delhi-NCR region.

Franna appoints Alpha Services as its first authorized dealer in India

Says Jaideep Shekhar, Managing Director (Asia & EMEAR), Terex Materials Processing India, “We are very excited about appointing our first dealer in India for Franna cranes. With the increasing usage of pick and carry cranes throughout India, this strategic partnership will support Franna’s growth objectives in the region. We look forward to working with them as we expand our reach across India.”

He informs that for over 40 years, Franna has dominated the Australia crane market and today these products can be found working in over 30 countries. “In India, the FR 17 is a new Franna pick and carry crane being manufactured at our Terex facility in Hosur. It brings a new level of safety to the crane industry in India. We have plans to come up with the 15 ton crane followed by the 23 ton, and in the rough terrain crane segment we plan to bring cranes with lesser tonnage than the current 45 tons. Our aim is to have a full basket of cranes ranging from 15 tons to 50 tons in the next two years. More new models will be introduced, and the volumes will also go up.”

Expressing confidence in the performance and safety parameters of Franna cranes in lifting jobs and in enabling timely completion of infra projects, he informs that Franna cranes are known the world over for their superior performance and their safety features. They can travel long distances at high speeds, reach jobsites in quick time, and undertake lifting jobs at several sites within the same day; plus, they require minimal set up time. Applications include machinery installations, shutdown work, mining, construction, hydroelectric, shipping & logistics, material handling, and more.

Comments Ragan J Gandhi, Managing Partner, Alpha Services, “We are delighted to add the Franna range to our portfolio of products and services and we look forward to working closely with Terex to strengthen their market leadership in the region. Franna is an established name globally; it was the first to develop the ‘pick and carry’ concept in the world, which later began to be developed by its competitors.”

Gandhi is confident that Terex’s ‘original’ Franna brand will win over competitors in the Indian market as the competitors’ products are based on Franna’s original design of the cranes. “Since the cranes will be manufactured by Terex in India, there will be a distinct price advantage over imports as well,” he says. “Pricing is a big challenge, but we are well equipped to promote the Franna brand along with the necessary support and services, given our 25+ years of experience in handling earthmoving equipment and pick and carry cranes in NCR.”

He adds, “Another advantage is that the banks and NBFCs will more easily finance a product that has proven safety features and other high-tech quality features. No doubt, the initial purchase price will be somewhat higher, but in the long run, customers will get value for their money when they experience lesser breakdowns of their cranes and less expenses incurred on spare parts & services.”

Established in 1982, Delhi-NCR based Alpha Services deals in Material Handling Equipment and is also a leading manufacturer of Goliath / EOT cranes. Alpha Services’ after-sales service network is manned by a local team of highly trained technicians.
