Escorts F20 Crane with Front Wheel Drive for Easy Traction
Escorts Construction Equipment stays committed to offering newer, safer, and technologically superior cranes to meet market demand

Escorts, that pioneered the concept of material handling in India with a series of Pick-N-Carry Cranes (PnC) of various lifting capacities under its Hydra brand, has stayed abreast of changing market needs. As demand for more technologically advanced equipment with varying load capacities and increasing lifting range came up, Escorts tied up with Franna. Escorts F-15 Hydraulic Mobile Crane is a product from this technological collaboration. It has a performance rating of 75% of tipping load along the three axes. Its 25% safety margin makes it the safest crane in its class, and its versatility enables it to operate in limited work spaces as well. A self compensating snatch block helps precision handling, while the hydraulically operated winch has built-in safety brakes. The crane is available in combinations of 2 Wheel and 4 Wheel drive, with or without outriggers. Heavy duty commercial front & rear axles comprise an efficient high speed/low creep drive line, while the default system protection valve makes it fail safe.
According to Mr. Raina, the F-15 is the highest selling crane in the company's TRX series of safe cranes that include cranes from 12 Tons to 23 Tons. Optional attachments include fly jibs for additional reach along X-axis and Y-axis; safe load indicator with overload and over hoist cut-off ensures safety of men & material at the site; a rear view camera, LCD display, and an air conditioned cabin enables operators to work for longer hours with maximum comfort and minimum fatigue.
As the infrastructure sector underwent steep changes in practices, processes, and job applications increased, Escorts introduced the more advanced F20 model under the TRX series to meet the fresh demands. Mr. Raina comments, "The construction industry is looking for better solutions for load handling and under-foot conditions. The norms governing speed, safety, and emissions are also getting redefined. In such a scenario, Escorts F20 crane, with its best in class weight distribution along and across the front and rear axles, has the capability to meet the current construction needs most efficiently."
The new F-20 crane has geometrically precise configurations and unmatched kinematics. With a rated capacity of 20T @1.5m, it is the only PnC crane that can lift 15 tons using the snatch block & winch. PnC cranes with rear wheel drive have traction issues in laden conditions. To overcome this limitation, 4 Wheel drive is used in cranes that makes them expensive to own and operate. F20 is the first crane, particularly in the high tonnage PnC category, that has a Front Wheel Drive, which gives it excellent traction in different and difficult work conditions. The maximum speed of 38 kms/hr gives it a road running advantage, while its high ground clearance, and uniform front and rear tyre size, makes it the most suitable PnC crane for use on rough terrains. It has a creep speed of 1.3km/hr, which is ideal for load handling, while the complete load visibility ensures safe handling.
F20 is also the first PnC crane with telematics - which offers several advantages to the owner as well as the operator. In fact, the company's emphasis on operator comfort is evident in the crane with add-on features such as an FM radio and a mobile phone charging facility. Mr Raina is confident that F20 will raise the benchmark in efficiency, safety, and performance in the construction industry.
