ECEL Tie-up with Altec for Power & Telecom Utility Equipment
Altec is to bank upon ECEL’s wide distribution network for product promotion. Escorts Construction Equipment Limited (ECEL) has recently entered into a distribution collaboration withUS Power and Telecom Utility Equipment manufacturing major, Altec Industries Inc. Through the collaboration, ECEL would help Altec market its range of Power and Telecom Utility equipment which includes Insulated Aerial work platforms, Derrick Diggers, Hot Line Insulator Washers, Cable Handlers, Truck mounted Hydraulic Telescoping Cranes. The collaboration is well expected to increase the cranes product portfolio of ECEL in the market further, while on the other hand it will allow Altec set its footprint in the Indian cranes market. Altec offers products for electric, telecommunications utility and for construction applications and have presence in 100 countries across the world.
The Product
The AC26-103S, hydraulic telescopic, truck mounted crane, primarily suited for construction applications has a maximum lifting capacity of 26 tonnes and a section boom of 103 ft (31.4m). The product has features consisting, hydraulic pilot-operated control systems, continuous rotation and hydraulic oil cooling system among others. The equipment also have wide variety of standard safety features comprising, load moment and protection system, rated capacity limiter, boom length, angle, load on hook, display systems. The other safety features comprises, electronic working area definition, operator audible alarm set points for boom angle, length and rotation position, outrigger boom interlock system, outrigger motion alarm, back up alarm, emergency stop at operator controls etc.
The AC26-103S also have certain optional features consisting, 2-piece 44 ft (13.4m) jib, 26 ft(7.9m) retracted, 2–man steel platform, climate controlled enclosed cab, load blocks for multiple parts of line, hydraulic tool circuit at tail shelf, pintle hitch, load hook/winch stow switch among others. Apart from AC26-103S hydraulic telescopic crane, Altec also manufactures hydraulic telescopic cranes, with a lifting capacity ranging from 18 tons-38 tons.
