Construction & Demolition Waste Recycling Plant by CDE
CDE celebrates the 'Clean India' drive – an initiative by the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, and the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) – by supplying its second Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste recycling plant to ILFS for an MCD project.
C&D waste is generated by construction or demolition activities such as buildings, roads, bridges, flyovers, subways, etc. C&D waste constitutes a major proportion of the total solid waste generated in the urban towns and cities in India. It is estimated that the construction industry alone in India generates about 10-12 million tons of waste annually.
55,000 million cum and 750 million cum of aggregate is the projected shortage in raw material available for the housing and road sector, respectively. Recycling of aggregate material from C&D waste will reduce the demand-supply gap in both these sectors. Recycling of C&D waste is widely practiced in countries like UK, USA, France, Denmark, Germany and Japan.
MoUD issued an advisory to all state governments under the 'Clean India' drive to use C&D waste beneficially by recycling it to suffice for raw material, which is increasingly becoming scarce resource in many states. As a progressive step, the 'Manual on Solid Waste Management' by the MoUD establishes quality standards for recycled aggregates and recycled aggregate concrete.
CDE, global pioneers of C&D waste recycling technology, installed its first ever C&D waste recycling plant in India, fully designed, engineered and commissioned for IL&FS for an MCD project in Delhi. CDE also supplied India's largest C&D waste recycling plant to IL&FS in Delhi.
This recycling system efficiently removes surface contaminants and silt from aggregate and sand fractions to effectively reduce and control the amount of material below 150 microns in the final product. Washed sand produced through CDE plant is being used for construction projects, including production of paver tiles.
The C&D waste recycling plant circuit includes – vibrating grizzly feeder hopper; RotoMax® logwasher for heavy-duty aggregate scrubbing; double deck ProGrade® wet screen with high pressure jets for rinsing and separating aggregates at two decks; sand wash plant with a combination of a sump, pump, dewatering screen and hydrocyclones for two stage sand cleaning process to remove the unwanted ultrafine particles (mainly clay) from sand; and AquaCycle® high rate thickener for water recycling.
CDE partners with you to find suitable customized C&D waste recycling solutions from its wide array of products based on geography, feed material, and other important parameters. This can help your business 'reuse' material and bring in the cost-effective green quotient to be a proud partner in 'Cleaning Up India.'
