VOLVO ABG 6820-The Most Powerful Paving Machine for Demanding Applications

Volvo Screed Technology
With the ABG Variomatic high density screeds, Volvo offers an outstanding screed technology. The VB 78/88 and VDT-V 78/88 Vario Screed models offer the highest flexibility on paving jobs with frequently changing paving widths. Vario screed models can be supplied as double or single tamper versions. The Volvo MB122 fixed screed is available as a single Tamper model. Volvo pavers offer both electric and gas heating screed. Screed heating system on Volvo ABG 6820 is more efficient with heating “on demand” to individual heating elements, and consumes less horsepower and fuel.Volvo’s patented combination of double tampers with screed vibration enables the paver to achieve the highest possible degree of compaction so that subsequent roller compaction is significantly reduced. Volvo’s patented hydraulic Quick coupling system makes adding and removing of screed extensions quick and easy. Volvo’s patented hydraulic crown mechanism enables screed crown adjustment faster, smoother and more accurate adjustment of the paving profile.
Optional Screed load device prevents start off bumps and Screed tensioning device used on wide paving widths preserved consistent attack angle across the screed.
The latest generation of Electronic Power Management (EPM II)
EPM II system provides the operator with an optimum overview and control of all paving processes. The control buttons for all functions are arranged on a bird’s eye diagram of the paver and are easily identified. Intuitive and easy to use, it gives full information on all paving functions thanks to a colorful display with graphic support. Due to its high degree of compatibility, the system can be easily upgraded and data can be transferred via USB interface on the control panel.Powerful Engine with Smart Power mode

Optimum accessibility to the main components is a Volvo standard. The spacious and conveniently designed operator’s station provides a 360° field of vision. Both comfort seats can cross slide over a wide range on the operator’s station and can even be laterally extended beyond the outer edge of the paver. The centrally mounted EPM II control panel can be swivelled, tilted and telescopically extended to the operator’s sitting position. The Volvo ABG 6820 features a removable EPM II control unit, which can be safely stowed in easy access compartments and a large hopper with good visibility on both front and rear tractor.Service Interval Manager
This feature allows the operator to pre-program function settings for particular job characteristics, thereby improves productivity by reducing set up times.Provides warnings or alerts to the operator regarding upcoming or past due service requirements.
