India’s drone revolution is moving into high gear, with logistics, homeland security and clean technology leading the charge. While global markets are embracing drones at record pace, India’s own transformation is even more pronounced. The nation’s commercial UAV market is projected to grow at a robust 18–20% compound annual growth rate (CAGR), rising from USD 84 million in 2021 to approximately USD 530 million by 2031. Consumer drones alone already represent a USD 500–700 million market opportunity. Alongside a rapidly expanding defence sector, India is fast emerging as one of the world’s most dynamic drone markets, setting new benchmarks across logistics, homeland security, and clean tech. Amid this wave of innovation, a new survey by Nexgen Exhibitions Private Limited (NEPL), one of Asia’s premier exhibition organisers, forecasts a 55% surge in drone deployment across India’s logistics, homeland security and clean tech sectors over the next three years.

Conducted among 1,000 professionals, including logistics experts, clean tech innovators, homeland security leaders, policymakers, and technology providers in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Pune, the survey reveals drones are rapidly becoming the backbone of next-generation supply chains, sustainable business, and national security operations. NEPL, renowned for curating best-in-class B2B exhibitions across more than 15 key industries including logistics, homeland security, safety, engineering, healthcare, and technology, continues to set the pace for industry collaboration and innovation. With over two decades of leadership, NEPL has hosted more than 10,000 exhibitors and welcomed upwards of 10 million visitors at over 50 major exhibitions across Asia.

Sangeeta Bansal, Managing Director, Nexgen Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., said, “The anticipated 55% surge in drone deployment is a testament to India’s readiness to embrace advanced technology and tackle emerging challenges across logistics, homeland security, and sustainability. Drones are rapidly becoming the backbone of next-gen supply chain management, clean tech innovation, and security infrastructure. However, to fully unlock their potential, we need regulatory clarity, skill development, and strong industry partnerships. The International Police Expo and Drone International Expo are designed to ignite this collaboration and help secure a smarter, greener, and safer future for India.”

This year, the 7th Drone International Expo and 11th International Police Expo, scheduled for June 24–25, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, will provide India’s most focused dual-sector platform for drone technology, logistics innovation, and policing advancements. Organised by Nexgen Exhibitions, the expos will unite more than 200 companies from over 25 countries, covering logistics, clean tech, homeland security, policing, forensics, arms and ammunition, counter-drone systems, surveillance, cybersecurity, and defence technology. These events offer a direct interface between industry and government at a time when India is accelerating domestic capability development across key sectors.

The survey uncovers a pivotal shift: 38% of respondents cited the combined demands of security and logistics as the primary driver for drone adoption, while 27% pointed to the need for faster and more sustainable logistics solutions, reflecting the growing importance of clean tech. More than half of respondents (54%) believe that current industry trends will further accelerate drone adoption for logistics, homeland security, and clean technology applications in India. Technological advancements were highlighted by 21%, and supportive government policies by 40%. Clean tech use cases, such as emission reduction, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly deliveries, are rising priorities, while drones for border surveillance and critical homeland security operations continue to gain ground.

Yet, the findings also signal the need for urgent policy and regulatory reform. Regulatory restrictions were cited as the biggest obstacle by 33% of participants, high operational costs by 26%, a shortage of trained personnel by 21%, and ongoing privacy and safety concerns by 15%. Despite these challenges, optimism remains high: 42% of stakeholders say increased drone usage will significantly improve India’s logistics, homeland security, and clean tech infrastructure in the next three years.

As the drone sector continues to evolve, the future of India’s logistics, homeland security, and clean tech industries will depend on forward-thinking policy, strong cross-sector partnerships, and robust workforce upskilling. The 7th Drone International Expo and 11th International Police Expo are set to showcase transformative drone innovations, foster global collaboration, and usher in a new era of excellence for India’s logistics, homeland security, and clean technology landscape.
