Noida readies blueprint for a double-decker expressway
In order to streamline traffic in the twin satellite cities in Noida, Noida Authority has prepared a blueprint to reduce the traffic load in the commercial cities on the outskirts of the national capital. In this sequence, work has already been started on the option of elevated road on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, said official sources, adding that a new road will be constructed over the expressway, which will make easy access to reach Yamuna Expressway from Delhi. The elevated expressway to be built over the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will result in an increase in the speed of vehicles. Vehicles originating from Delhi will be diverted on the elevated expressway to reach Yamuna Expressway directly. The elevated road is likely to start near Mahamaya Flyover and end at Noida Entry Gate near Sector 151. In such a situation, those who would like to go to Noida and Greater Noida will continue to use the existing expressway. At the same time, people going towards Agra, Lucknow or other cities of UP will use the new road. This will not only reduce the travel time, but will also reduce the traffic load on Noida.
