HP High Court Issues Notice to NHAI on Kiratpur-Manali Highway Safety
The Himachal Pradesh High Court has issued notices to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in response to a petition highlighting safety concerns for pedestrians on the Kiratpur-Manali highway. Filed by Madan Lal Sharma, the general secretary of the Bilaspur-based Fourlane Visthapit and Prabahavit Samiti (FVPS), the petition emphasizes the lack of foot overbridges, underpasses, and pathways, making the highway perilous for pedestrians. The petitioner urges the NHAI to address safety issues promptly by constructing pedestrian crossings, underpasses, foot overbridges, and sidewalks at various intersections along the highway.
