Incessant rains in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand has washed away parts of the Karnaprayag-Gwaldam National Highway due to the heavy flow in the Pindar River, and the soil of the lower parts of the road is continuously being eroded. Heavy rains in the state have triggered landslides and flash floods at several places.
