Gadkari Allocates ₹382 Cr for Highway Linking Majuli-Jorhat in Assam
Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has approved ₹382.10 crore for constructing a 2-lane highway with paved shoulders connecting Majuli and Jorhat on NH 715K in Assam. The project, spanning 20.479 kms, includes a flyover on NH-715, enhancing connectivity and addressing the absence of a direct road link between Jorhat and Majuli. Currently reliant on river ferries, residents face safety risks, especially during floods. Gadkari emphasized that the infrastructure initiative will bolster socio-economic conditions, promote tourism, and reduce travel time and vehicle operating costs for road users.
