Expressways & highways in Rajasthan to get additional signages
To improve road safety, the Union Road Ministry has issued new guidelines, such as putting up sign boards of no parking, speed limit, vehicle height limit, etc along expressways and highways to improve road safety in Rajasthan. The speed limit sign board the no parking sign board is to be repeated at every five kilometre, and advance direction signs for grade separated entry and exit to expressways have to be placed at 500m, 1km and 2km in advance of the exit, while the sign board for emergency helpline number 1033 has to be put up at every 5km interval. The guidelines also include sign boards for merging traffic ahead, overhead cables, reduced carriageway, rumble strip to be installed to help reduce speed in advance.
