Centre Allocates ₹1,782 cr for Road Project in Arunachal Pradesh

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced that the Centre has sanctioned ₹1,782 crore for the construction of a crucial road project in Arunachal Pradesh leading to the Line of Actual Control with China. The 82-kilometre-long greenfield road from Pango to Jorging in the Upper Siang district aims to substantially reduce travel time for security forces, enhancing their efficiency in reaching border areas.

The project, divided into Package-I and II, is strategically significant, ensuring seamless and secure traffic flow while establishing year-round connectivity to the villages in the region. This initiative is expected to catalyze socio-economic development in the hilly areas of the district.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed gratitude to Minister Gadkari, emphasizing the special focus on enhancing connectivity in the region. The allocation of ₹1,782 crore is seen as a crucial step in bolstering infrastructure and security in the northeastern state.
