The project will extend Kavach 4.0 coverage across the identified balance sections of the division, strengthening the railway safety infrastructure for train operations.
Kavach is an indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system designed to enhance operational safety. The system helps prevent Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD), automatically applies brakes when required and monitors train movement to support safer train operations.
The deployment forms part of Indian Railways’ ongoing programme to expand Kavach coverage across the national rail network. The technology is aimed at modernising train protection systems and improving the safety and reliability of railway operations.
