DMRC considers extending Rithala-Narela Corridor to Kundli in Haryana

Initially designed for four-coach trains, the corridor's smaller stations will accommodate the initial traffic demand, with provisions for future expansion to accommodate eight-coach trains. The extension will connect with the operational Shaheed Sthal-Rithala Red Line corridor, enabling improved connectivity to important locations in central and east Delhi, including Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The extended corridor will span 27.3 kms, featuring 22 stations, with 26.4 kms of elevated tracks and 0.9 kilometers at grade. The enhanced connectivity will particularly benefit residents of newly developed residential colonies, such as those in Narela, where the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched housing schemes with over 3,500 flats. This expansion follows the successful impact of DMRC's earlier extension to Dwarka, which greatly improved connectivity to the sub-city.
