The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has commenced construction of the new Central Secretariat Metro Station under Phase V(A) of the Delhi Metro, marking a key milestone in the development of the Central Vista Corridor.

The project was inaugurated by Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs and Power Manohar Lal in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs and DMRC.

The new station is being built as part of the 9.913-km extension of the Magenta Line from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg. Once completed, Central Secretariat will become a triple interchange station, seamlessly connecting the Magenta, Yellow and Violet Lines, significantly improving connectivity for commuters travelling to the Lutyens' Delhi administrative district.

The underground corridor will comprise nine stations: Shivaji Stadium, Yuge Yugeen Bharat, Central Secretariat, Kartavya Bhawan, India Gate, War Memorial–High Court, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam, and Indraprastha.

The Central Vista Corridor is expected to enhance metro connectivity to key government offices, judicial institutions, national memorials and convention centres, while improving passenger convenience and strengthening Delhi Metro's overall network efficiency.
