Delhi Metro Phase V Expansion to Add 97 Km Network at Rs 48,204 Cr

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta is set to announce Phase V (b) expansion of the Delhi Metro, adding 97 km across seven corridors with 65 stations, aimed at improving connectivity in outer areas of the capital.

The project, estimated at Rs 48,204.56 crore, will extend metro connectivity to key regions including Najafgarh, Narela, Badarpur, Kondli and other underserved areas. Major corridors include Central Secretariat–Kishangarh, Najafgarh–Nangloi, Samaypur Badli–Narela, Kirti Nagar–Palam and Jor Bagh–Mithapur, among others.

The expansion is currently in the planning stage, with four corridors identified as priority projects targeted for completion by 2029. The project is expected to enhance last-mile connectivity, reduce travel time and support sustainable urban mobility across Delhi.
