CMRL awards Rs 1,063-cr contract for metro station development in Chennai

The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has signed a contract with M/s Dineshchandra-soma Joint Venture, involving an investment of Rs 1,063 crore, for the development of metro stations in corridor 3 of phase 2 construction. The contract is part of the funding received from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for CMRL's phase 2 metro rail construction.

The project includes the construction of four underground stations: Moolakadai, Sembiyam, Perambur Market, and Perambur Metro Crossover at Sembiam. Additionally, the scope of work involves the diaphragm walls for two underground stations at Madhavaram Milk Colony and Murari Hospital (Madhavaram High Road Metro) in corridor 3.

This significant development marks a crucial step towards improving Chennai's metro infrastructure and expanding public transportation in the city. Once completed, the project will provide commuters with efficient and convenient connectivity options on a daily basis.
