HMRL launches work on metro extension to Old City

To facilitate the smooth progress of the project, the Hyderabad Metro officials have identified and listed 103 religious or sensitive structures along the route. Among these structures are 21 mosques, 12 temples, 12 ashoorkhanas, 33 dargahs, seven graveyards, and six chillas. The agency is working diligently to ensure that all these structures, except for four, are preserved by implementing engineering solutions such as adjusting curvature, viaduct design, and suitable alterations of metro pillar locations.
According to N V S Reddy, the Managing Director of HMRL, land acquisition notices are being issued for around 1,000 properties in the area. Notably, two metro stations are strategically positioned approximately 500 meters away from Salarjung Museum and Charminar, emphasizing their significance and prominence in the city.
