Anand-Vihar-Terminal
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has reviewed the progress of Yatri Suvidha Kendra (Passenger Holding Area) projects at Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi and Udhna Railway Station in Gujarat, directing officials to complete the facilities before the upcoming festive travel season.

The review meeting, attended by Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna, assessed the progress of civil works, utility shifting, structural construction, passenger amenities and other infrastructure to ensure timely completion of the projects.

The Yatri Suvidha Kendras are being developed to accommodate waiting and unticketed passengers, reducing congestion on platforms, station concourses and entry areas during peak travel periods. The facilities will include covered waiting areas, seating, ticket counters, toilets, drinking water, public announcement systems, CCTV surveillance, passenger information displays, lighting, signage and improved passenger circulation.

At Anand Vihar Terminal, the project is being executed in two phases. Phase I will accommodate around 4,000 passengers, while Phase II will increase the total capacity to approximately 7,000 passengers.

At Udhna Railway Station, the Yatri Suvidha Kendra is being built to accommodate around 15,000 passengers at a time. The project will also improve connectivity between the holding area and station platforms, enabling smoother passenger movement during periods of heavy footfall.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the projects are aimed at improving crowd management, enhancing passenger comfort and strengthening Indian Railways' ability to handle large passenger volumes at major stations.
