UP Emerges as 2nd Largest Economy in India's GDP Share
A recent report by soic.in reveals that Uttar Pradesh has surged to become the second-largest contributor to India's GDP share, accounting for 9.2%, surpassing Tamil Nadu with a 9.1% share. The report, based on Sensex and CSLA, marks a significant climb from Uttar Pradesh's previous third-place ranking. Maharashtra remains the leading contributor with a 15.7% share. Uttar Pradesh, home to five domestic and three international airports, is spearheading infrastructure development, including the Noida International Airport, set to be Asia's largest. The state boasts extensive expressway networks, including Yamuna, Agra, Purvanchal, and Bundelkhand, enhancing connectivity and reducing travel time. With the largest road network (4 lakh km), over 11,000 km of highways, and an electrified railway network spanning nearly 9,000 km, Uttar Pradesh reinforces its position as an economic powerhouse.
