PM Unveils Development Projects Worth Over ₹1,150cr in Lakshadweep
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects exceeding ₹1,150 crore in Kavaratti, Lakshadweep. The initiatives span various sectors, including technology, energy, water resources, healthcare, and education. Key projects include the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI-SOFC) to enhance internet speed, a low-temperature thermal desalination (LTTD) plant, and the provision of piped water to every household. The Prime Minister emphasized the ecological significance of the area and highlighted efforts to boost Lakshadweep's presence on the international tourism map under the Swadesh Darshan scheme.
