Kochi gets clearance for Rs 345-cr urban infra projects

The Kochi Corporation has announced that it has obtained clearance for urban infrastructure projects worth Rs 345 crore under the Amrut-2 scheme. The civic body has received administrative sanction for water infrastructure projects amounting to Rs 152 crore. Additionally, an allocation of Rs 193 crore has been secured for the construction and enhancement of the sewerage network within the city.

Tender proceedings for water supply projects worth Rs 27 crore have been successfully concluded, with the works anticipated to be awarded shortly. These water supply projects, included in the Amrut-2 scheme, encompass pipe laying along Kunjanbava Road and the installation of an additional pump at the Pazhoor pump house.

Moreover, the Kochi Corporation is in the process of granting technical approval for a sewage treatment plant capable of treating five million liters per day, located at Elamkulam. Furthermore, the corporation is overseeing the development of a 40-kilometer connected network as part of the Rs 193-crore sewerage project.
