DFCCIL clears Rs 858-cr line linking DFC Dadri to logistics hub

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL)
The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has granted approval for a railway approach line connecting the New Dadri Dedicated Freight Corridor station to the upcoming multimodal logistics hub of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. This development involves an investment of Rs 858 crore and is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor project.

The primary objective of this rail project is to establish a state-of-the-art multimodal logistics hub in Dadri, facilitating seamless transportation of goods and raw materials from Greater Noida to Gujarat, Kolkata, and Mumbai within a 24-hour timeframe. Currently, the absence of such connectivity prolongs cargo shipments to 4-5 days. By significantly reducing transit time, this initiative aims to enhance efficiency and boost trade.

DFCCIL, the executing agency, will soon initiate the contractor selection process by floating a tender. Spanning across 823 acres, the multimodal logistics hub in Dadri is set to become a modern freight handling unit. With an estimated cost of Rs 7,034 crore, the hub will feature advanced warehouses, custom clearance points, rail platforms, cold storage facilities, truck parking bays, and cargo separation areas.

To expedite the loading and unloading of goods into freight trains, the rail yard will be equipped with 16 platforms. The Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited, in collaboration with DMIC, is currently in the process of hiring a project consultant to oversee tender preparation and construction work monitoring for this significant endeavor.
