JSW Steel Acquires Land for 13.2 MT Integrated Steel Plant in Odisha
JSW Utkal Steel (JUSL), a subsidiary of JSW Steel, has acquired possession of a 2,950.31-acre land parcel for establishing a greenfield integrated steel plant (ISP) with a capacity of 13.2 million tonnes. The project, located near Paradip port in Odisha, requires an investment of Rs 65,000 crore. The land acquisition includes about 2,677.80 acres of forest land, with the necessary documents handed over to JSW Utkal Steel. The company had announced plans for the steel plant in 2022, and the acquired land was previously earmarked for Posco's steel plant, which faced challenges and couldn't materialize.
