Jindal Inks ₹1,000 cr Deal for New Manufacturing Plant in Tamil Nadu

Jindal Advanced Materials (JAM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government during the Global Investors Meet in Chennai. The agreement outlines the establishment of JAM's first manufacturing plant in South India, a strategic investment totaling nearly INR 1,000 crores.

The state-of-the-art facility, spanning 250 acres in Trichy, is expected to generate up to 3,000 jobs. The MoU was jointly signed by Director, JAM, Mr C P Agrawal, and MD & CEO, Guidance, Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Mr V Vishnu (IAS).

Tamil Nadu's Honourable Chief Minister, Shri M K Stalin, and other key dignitaries were present during the signing. JAM's new plant, the company's fourth in India, will focus on producing innovative composite materials and is slated to become operational over the next seven years in a phased manner.

According to the MoU, the Tamil Nadu government commits to providing steadfast support, ensuring necessary infrastructure, and an uninterrupted power supply for the project. Director, JAM, Mr C P Agrawal, expressed the significance of the MoU in enhancing customer service in the South and highlighted the advantages of Tamil Nadu's infrastructure, Trichy's proximity to the port, and the existing ecosystem in infrastructure and aerospace sectors.

MD & CEO, Guidance, Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Mr V Vishnu (IAS), remarked on the success of the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024. He emphasized the potential for industrial growth in the region, especially in the infra and aerospace sectors. Mr Vishnu acknowledged the centrality of Tamil Nadu's connectivity to South India and the positive impact of the MoU with JAM on the city's industrial expansion.
