J&K launches Rs 3,000-cr infra upgrades in Srinagar city

In a significant step towards this transformation, the state's Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Sinha, inaugurated the renovated Polo View market as part of the Smart City Project. The Polo-View market has been recently completed, exemplifying the progress made under the comprehensive Smart City initiative. Srinagar City is currently undergoing a massive revamp, with various projects falling under the ambit of the Smart City Projects.
Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta emphasized the diverse improvements taking place throughout the city. These include the establishment of cycle tracks and the availability of cycles for rent at different points in the city on an hourly basis. Additionally, roadside car parking facilities have been introduced, subject to charges. Furthermore, the iconic clock tower, popularly known as Ghanta Ghar, is undergoing renovation, enhancing its historical significance. Alongside these developments, the road infrastructure in and around Srinagar City is undergoing a transformative upgrade, aimed at providing a world-class experience to residents and visitors alike.
