Gujarat Government Allocates ₹48,736 cr for Urban Development
The Gujarat government has sanctioned a significant sum of ₹48,736 crore, underscoring its commitment to providing world-class facilities in urban areas. The allocation, part of the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, dedicated to urban development, has been extended until 2026-27. Additionally, Gujarat cities have secured ₹18,395 crore from the Union government through various schemes, further boosting financial support for urban initiatives. The state's persistent focus on fortifying public infrastructure and civic amenities has been evident in landmark projects like GIFT City, Surat Diamond Bourse, Dholera SIR, and Sabarmati Riverfront, contributing to Gujarat's reputation as one of the most urbanized states in India.
