Kaushik Engineering Unveils India’s First 70% RAP-Enabled Asphalt Batchmix Plant

At Bauma Conexpo India 2026, Kaushik Engineering Works (KEW) has unveiled its latest technological advancement in asphalt mixing: a 70% RAP (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement) Enabled Asphalt Batchmix Plant, designed and manufactured in India.

The new technology represents a significant advancement in the use of recycled asphalt in conventional batchmix plants. Kaushik Engineering, is the first Indian OEM to design and manufacture an asphalt batchmix plant capable of processing up to 70% RAP, marking a major milestone for the Indian road construction equipment industry.

From Recycling to High-Value Reuse

With increasing emphasis on resource efficiency, reducing construction waste and lowering the environmental impact of road construction, the ability to reuse reclaimed asphalt at higher percentages is becoming increasingly important.

Kaushik’s new 70% RAP technology enables contractors and road developers to incorporate a substantially higher proportion of reclaimed asphalt into new asphalt mixes, reducing the requirement for virgin aggregates and bitumen while also lowering fuel consumption associated with the production of conventional asphalt mixes.

The technology has been engineered to address one of the key challenges in high-RAP asphalt production: efficiently heating and integrating large quantities of reclaimed material while protecting the quality of the recycled binder and maintaining consistent mix output.

State-of-the-Art Technology, Developed in India

The 70% RAP-enabled system has been developed by Kaushik Engineering with a focus on high recycling rates, operational efficiency and integration with existing asphalt production infrastructure.

The company has also developed a retrofit solution, allowing suitable existing asphalt batchmix plants to be upgraded to process significantly higher percentages of RAP. This opens the technology to contractors who want to transition towards high-recycled-content asphalt production without necessarily replacing their complete existing plant.

The technology can potentially deliver significant savings in the consumption of virgin aggregates, bitumen and fuel, depending on the RAP quality, mix design, moisture content, production conditions and project requirements.

The launch reinforces Kaushik Engineering’s focus on developing indigenous technologies for the evolving requirements of the global road construction industry.
