SJVN-Mahagenco inks 5,000 mw green energy pacts
Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), a prominent power generation player, has recently forged a collaboration with Mahagenco, the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company, to jointly undertake renewable energy projects in Maharashtra. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel) of SJVN, and P Anablagan, CMD of Mahagenco. Under this agreement, SJVN aims to generate 5,000 megawatts of renewable energy in Maharashtra. Nand Lal Sharma, the Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN, stated that the collaboration will focus on exploring the feasibility of various renewable projects, including hydro, pumped storage, wind, solar, hybrid, and green hydrogen initiatives across the state. Additionally, both companies will actively participate in tenders issued by the Maharashtra government for the renovation and modernization of small hydropower stations managed by Mahagenco. This partnership marks a significant milestone in expanding the renewable energy infrastructure and promoting the transition towards a greener and more sustainable energy sector in Maharashtra.
