NHAI Debars Toll Operating Agency for Misbehaving with Highway Users

NHAI
NHAI has taken stringent action against Riddhi Siddhi Associates for an incident of assault and misbehavior with National Highway users at Sirmandi Toll Plaza on the Amritsar-Jamnagar section in Rajasthan.

Following reports of assault and misbehavior by toll operator employees on May 5, 2024, NHAI promptly examined the incident and served a 'Show Cause' Notice to the firm. However, the response from the toll operating agency was deemed unsatisfactory. In violation of contractual provisions and NHAI Standing Operating Procedure, the agency engaged in violent and inappropriate behavior with highway users. As a result, NHAI has debarred M/s. Riddhi Siddhi Associates from pre-qualified bidder status for a period of three months.

NHAI's contract agreement with toll operators explicitly prohibits misconduct or misbehavior with the public and mandates strict discipline and decency in behavior. Last year, NHAI introduced detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to mitigate altercation incidents at Toll Plazas and ensure the welfare of both commuters and toll operators.

NHAI remains dedicated to ensuring safe and seamless travel on National Highways and has recently taken decisive action against agencies involved in violence and misbehavior towards highway users at toll plazas.
