The battery pack has completed requirements under UL9540A, IEC 62619, IEC 63056, IEC 60730, IEC 61000-6-2 and IEC 61000-6-4, along with UN38.3 at the battery-pack and system levels. These standards cover areas including thermal runaway safety, battery performance, functional safety, electromagnetic compatibility and transportation safety.
SPML Infra is establishing BESS manufacturing and integration capabilities in Pune, Maharashtra. The facility is being developed to support battery pack assembly, engineering, system integration and large-scale project execution.
The company said the development of the battery pack under its own intellectual property will strengthen its ability to develop, manufacture and further evolve energy storage products for the Indian market. The initiative is also aimed at progressively localising critical BESS engineering and technology capabilities in India.
SPML Infra is combining proprietary engineering, domestic manufacturing and EPC capabilities as it expands into India's growing energy storage market. The company plans to use these capabilities to develop and execute BESS projects for grid-scale applications.
