OIL Green Energy Signs MoUs for 5,000 TPD Waste-To-CBG and Green Power Projects in Haryana
The projects will be developed across the Hisar, Ambala, Faridabad and Gurugram clusters, with proposed waste-processing capacities of 500 tonnes per day (TPD), 900 TPD, 1,600 TPD and 2,000 TPD, respectively. Together, the four facilities will have the capacity to process 5,000 TPD of municipal solid waste.
The projects are expected to produce around 70-75 TPD of CBG and 50 MW of green power, strengthening waste-to-energy and low-carbon energy infrastructure in Haryana.
Under the integrated waste-processing model, municipal solid waste will undergo scientific pre-processing and segregation to maximise resource recovery. Recyclable materials will be recovered, while the wet and biodegradable fraction will be converted into CBG. The non-recyclable dry fraction will subsequently be used for electricity generation through Waste-to-Energy facilities.
The initiative is designed to maximise resource and energy recovery while reducing dependence on landfills and supporting more sustainable municipal solid waste management.
The projects are aligned with the government's broader Waste-to-Wealth and circular economy objectives, as well as the GOBARdhan - National Circular Bioenergy Scheme 2026, which promotes scientific waste management and the conversion of organic waste into CBG and other clean-energy forms.
For OIL Green Energy, the collaboration will expand its presence in the low-carbon energy segment and strengthen its role in developing large-scale waste-to-clean-energy solutions.
