the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project
The Sabarmati Rolling Stock Depot, a cornerstone of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project, signifies a paradigm shift towards sustainable and efficient infrastructure. Spanning 83 hectares, the depot is the largest of its kind, boasting cutting-edge facilities for both light and heavy maintenance. Inspired by Japanese depots, it features advanced amenities including inspection bays, washing plants, workshops, and stabling lines.

With 4 inspection lines and 10 stabling lines initially, the depot plans to expand to 8 inspection lines and 29 stabling lines in the future. Specialized facilities like bogie exchange lines ensure comprehensive maintenance capabilities.

Features include a dedicated test track, industrial sheds, centralized control facilities, and staff amenities like dining rooms and auditoriums.

Embracing sustainability, the depot implements eco-friendly initiatives such as rainwater harvesting, wastewater recycling, and waste management systems. Future plans include the installation of solar panels for energy generation.

As a symbol of technological advancement and environmental stewardship, the Sabarmati Depot sets new benchmarks for efficiency and reliability, shaping the success of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project.
